Sweed S2000 chopper designed to process up to 1 ton per hour - Recycling Today

Gold Hill, Oregon-based recycling equipment company Sweed Machinery says its new S2000 series of wire chopping lines has been designed to efficiently handle up to 1 ton per hour of wire and cable

Gold Hill, Oregon-based recycling equipment company Sweed Machinery says its new S2000 series of wire chopping lines has been designed to efficiently handle up to 1 ton per hour of wire and cable scrap, as well as for flexibility, which the company says makes it suitable for those entering the wire chopping business or considering an upgrade from simpler systems.

Sweed also maintains parts and components in stock for the S2000 series chopping lines, “ensuring prompt builds and shipping for processors.”

The S2000 wire chopping lines process No. 1 insulated copper wire (ICW) efficiently within a compact footprint, “setting high standards for copper recovery, sustainability and efficiency," Sweed says.

The S2000+ model is a specialized wire chopping line designed for processing challenging scrap materials. “Crafted for low-yield wire and cable, the S2000+ features a turbo mill, ensuring an exceptional copper recovery rate for No. 2 wire, surpassing conventional methods,” the company says.

Beyond wire and cable, the S2000+ can process other scrap materials, including auto shredder residue (ASR) and wire harnesses. Featuring dual dedicated air tables, the S2000+ also simultaneously can process copper and aluminum materials, “enhancing efficiency and scrap metal processing capabilities.”

Other S2000 series features and options include a Sweed PCR1048 prechopper; a conveyor with magnetic ferrous separation; an SG1826 granulator; Sweed 3G air table density separation; an indoor Sweed 3,800 cubic feet per minute (CFM) dust collector; a control cabinet with Siemens or Allen Bradley process logic controller (PLC) and human-machine interface (HMI); and an air conveyance material transfer system from the granulator to the air table.

The S2000+ model specifically also includes Sweed’s TM1815 turbo mill, two 3G air tables for density separation; a single-deck sifter and auger for plastic output; and an outdoor 8,000 CFM dust collector.

Sweed Machinery provides scrap choppers, wire chopping lines, shredders, granulators and shears for recyclers and material handling equipment for the wood products industry.
