Germany-based THM Recycling Solutions is offering its PG Power Granulator generation of “modern, highly powerful" granulators that meet the latest technological standards.
The PG Power Granulator line replaces THM Recycling Solutions’ ZM machine series, which THM says has proven its efficiency worldwide in the shredding of metals and other materials such as cable scrap and plastic scrap.
The company says its new granulators incorporate features that facilitate easier maintenance and operation as well as increased throughput performance.
A new feature of the PG Power Granulator is the use of four sieve segments instead of a single, heavy standard sieve, as found in the ZM series. These sieve segments are lighter and easier to replace than a continuous sieve basket, THM says.
In case of damage to a sieve, only the affected sieve segment needs to be replaced, not the entire sieve basket, resulting in what THM calls optimized maintenance costs.
Another new feature is the hydraulically swiveling sieve basket. Previously, with the ZM Granulator, when changing the heavy sieve, the discharge unit had to be removed for assembly and disassembly, requiring at least two people and a transport trolley.
The hydraulically swiveling sieve basket and easily manageable sieve segments of the PG Power series eliminate this effort, “accelerating and simplifying maintenance while reducing maintenance costs,” THM says.
THM has equipped PG Power Granulators with a larger inlet opening to increase throughput performance by accommodating more material. Additionally, the PG Power Granulator has “sleeker dimensions" compared with the ZM machine series, requiring less space and facilitating better integration into overall systems.
The new PG machine series became available via ordering from THM Recycling Solutions in January. It will be on display at the 2024 IFAT environmental technology trade fair in Munich, Germany, this May.
THM Recycling Solutions is a portfolio company of Germany-based Maschinenbau Ehehalt GmbH from Eppingen-Mühlbach (Baden-Württemberg), a company with more than 30 years of experience in recycling machine manufacturing and an installation base of more than 1,000 granulators, shredders, cutting mills, hammermills and preshredders.
